As an accountant, youll work directly with the accounting team in close collaboration with our finance partners to transform financial data into actionable information and insights. This position has full P&L responsibility for the lines of business they support, including recording and reviewing standard and non-standard accounting transactions, explaining variances to forecast and budget, able to identify opportunities for improvement, and work with the finance team to identify business risks and opportunities. Youll be the owner of complex balance sheet reconciliations, including preparing executive summaries, reviewing balance sheet reconciliations prepared by iHM staff accountants, and proactively working open items to resolution to ensure the balance sheet is correct. Youll be able to connect the dots between transactions and their impact on the P&L and balance sheet. Youll identify and communicate opportunity areas to supervisors while also proposing solutions. Youll provide internal and external audit support, compiling documentation, coordinating efforts with both financial and non-financial resources, and ensuring audit documentation is complete and demonstrates an adequate audit trail. Youll assist in preparing footnote disclosures and supporting schedules for corporate accounting. Youll participate in special projects and cross functional teams. Youll develop expertise in iHMs accounting systems to effectively and efficiently process and mine financial data. Youll develop subject matter expertise on different areas assigned.
Bachelors degree in accounting and five or more years of relevant accrual-based accounting experience required. Advanced skills in Excel including advanced formulas, pivot tables and v-lookup functions in order to manipulate large data sets. Financial systems experience (COGNOS, NetSuite, Peoplesoft, etc.). Able to effectively communicate across multiple levels of the organization, both written and oral.
