Ops Dental Assistant
The OPS Dental Assistant position is expected to work four days per week (32 hours). Responsibilities include passing instruments to the dentist during procedures, taking and processing dental X-rays, laying out instruments and materials needed to treat each patient, suctioning during treatment, applying sealants, charting existing restorations, removing surgical dressings, placing or removing rubber dams, applying topical fluorides, taking impressions, taking digital radiographs, providing oral hygiene instructions, preparing and maintaining the operatory room, operating the computer system to enter patient information, assisting with inventory and supplies, monitoring work email, entering time worked, identifying process improvement opportunities, performing clerical duties, attending mandatory trainings, and other duties as assigned. Required knowledge, skills, and abilities include dental terminology, use of dental equipment, working with children, diverse populations, sterilization procedures, confidentiality, dental insurance, office equipment, internet and computer systems, patient records, and Eaglesoft software. Qualifications include a valid Florida driver's license, a FL Board of Dentistry certificate in radiology and expanded duties, and fluency in English / Spanish or English / Creole.
