Job description

A leading enterprise organization based in Bolingbrook, Illinois is seeking a QA Engineer—either fully manual or with automation experience—to join a mission-critical team focused on delivering high-quality, scalable software applications. This role is ideal for quality engineers with a strong understanding of software testing fundamentals, SQL, and bug tracking, with bonus points for automation experience in C#.

The QA Engineer will support both manual and automated testing efforts, working closely with development teams to ensure product quality from front-end to back-end. Candidates with automation skills will contribute to test script development in C#, while manual testers will play a key role in validating application functionality, logging defects in Jira, and ensuring a seamless end-user experience.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute test cases for web and / or desktop applications

Perform both manual and automated testing (C# preferred for automation)

Conduct front-end, back-end, and database testing using SQL

Log and track defects using Jira

Collaborate closely with developers and stakeholders to clarify requirements and test coverage

Participate in regression, functional, and integration testing cycles

Identify and document bugs and inconsistencies

Analyze test results and contribute to continuous quality improvement

Required Skills & Experience

2–5+ years of experience in QA or Software Testing

Hands-on experience with manual testing; automation experience is a strong plus

Proficiency in SQL for database validation

Familiarity with Jira or other bug tracking tools

Automation scripting in C# (if applicable)

Strong communication and documentation skills

Detail-oriented mindset with a passion for quality

Nice to Have

Experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, NUnit, xUnit)

Exposure to CI / CD environments

Familiarity with API testing tools (e.g., Postman)

Experience in Agile or Scrum environments
