Senior Esprit CAM Programmer — Turning & Live Tooling

A day in the life in Brea, CA

It’s early morning in our Brea shop—machines humming, fixtures set, and a new set of high-mix jobs waiting. You open Esprit Edge, load a drawing for a short-run turning part with live tooling, and begin shaping toolpaths to hit tight tolerances with minimal tool wear. By mid-morning, you’ve optimized a lathe program for a 1–5 piece run, collaborated with a machinist on workholding, and tweaked feeds / speeds to shave minutes off cycle time. The afternoon wraps with a quick check on a 3-axis mill program and documenting best practices for the next unique order.

Where you’ll do your best work

Since 1937, our established manufacturing company in Brea, CA has built precision-engineered engines for industrial, agricultural, and military applications. We’re a close-knit team of about 35 people with 13 CNC machines (and plans to expand), known for in-house design, manufacturing craftsmanship, and a commitment to quality.

What you’ll own

• Program turning and milling operations in Esprit Edge, with a primary focus on lathe programming with live tooling
• Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications to build reliable, efficient programs
• Select tools, fixtures, and cutting parameters appropriate to each job
• Continuously refine programs to boost accuracy, efficiency, and tool life
