Customs Broker – In-Office | Great Neck, NY
A well-established international logistics and freight forwarding provider with over 30 years of experience is seeking an experienced Customs Brokerage Specialist to join their team in Great Neck, NY . This is a full-time, in-office position ideal for professionals with deep expertise in customs clearance, regulatory compliance, and U.S. import procedures.
Salary Range : $75,000 – $90,000 annually (based on experience)
Software Requirement : CargoWise experience is required
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and submit accurate documentation for U.S. Customs clearance
- Classify products using HTS codes and determine duties, taxes, and import compliance requirements
- Ensure compliance with U.S. Customs and Partner Government Agencies (FDA, USDA, Fish & Wildlife, Lacey Act, etc.)
- Communicate effectively with clients and overseas agents on DDP shipments, delivery status, and required paperwork
- Resolve customs delays, documentation discrepancies, and clearance issues
- Maintain records in accordance with CBP and internal compliance standards
- Stay up-to-date with trade regulations and apply changes to internal workflows
Qualifications
5–10 years of experience in customs brokerage or import operations within the freight forwarding industryCargoWise experience is requiredStrong knowledge of HTS classification, CBP regulations, and PGA requirementsExperience with FDA codes, Lacey Act entries, and DDP proceduresExcellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skillsCustoms Broker License is preferred but not requiredBenefits
