CDL Truck Driver Local Route (Food Waste Collection)
$28 / hour starting wage | Path to Worker-Ownership | Weekdays 5 : 00 AM12 : 00 PM
CERO Cooperative, Inc., a Boston-based, worker-owned cooperative, is seeking a responsible, professional CDL truck driver to join our growing organic waste collection team. This is a solid local driving opportunity with a MondayFriday schedule and the unique chance to become a worker-owner with one of Bostons leading sustainable W / MBE businesses.
The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and experienced in commercial truck operation.
Compensation & Schedule
- Starting Pay : $28 / hour
- After 6 Months : Increase to $30 / hour
- Schedule : Monday to Friday, 5 : 00 AM to 1 : 00 PM
- Hours : 3540 hours per week
- Pay Frequency : Biweekly
- Worker-Ownership : Eligible after initial period
Responsibilities
Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections (fluids, tires, safety equipment, etc.)Follow designated routes using the routing app or as assigned by the operations managerSafely operate a garbage truck to collect source-separated organic wasteLoad and unload totes and containers (must be able to lift / push / pull over 100 lbs)Operate hydraulic hand controls for lifting and disposal at designated facilitiesMaintain a courteous, professional demeanor with customersAdhere to company policies and all local, state, and federal driving lawsComplete route logs and other reports as requiredPerform preventative maintenance and report issues promptlyQualifications
Valid Class B CDL with air brake endorsementHigh school diploma or equivalent2+ years of commercial driving experienceFamiliarity with GPS , routing apps , and service logsClean driving record and understanding of DOT regulationsAbility to pass a background check and drug screeningBasic mechanical knowledge for inspections and troubleshootingWaste collection experience is a plus, but not required.Working Conditions
