Job description

LanceSoft is seeking a travel nurse RN ICU - Intensive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Mountain Home, Arkansas.

Job Description & Requirements

  • Specialty : ICU - Intensive Care Unit

Job Requirements

  • Education : Graduate of an accredited nursing school; ADN required, BSN preferred
  • Licensure : Current Arkansas or Compact RN license in good standing
  • Experience : Minimum 2 years (Open Heart / Heart Recovery required)
  • Certifications : BLS & ACLS required
  • Other : Effective communication and basic computer proficiency

    • Vaccine Requirements

  • COVID-19 Vaccine : Required – Medical / Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed
  • Flu Vaccine : Required – Medical / Religious Exemptions and Declinations Allowed

    • Safety Sensitive Designation :

    This position is considered safety sensitive under Arkansas Act 593 (Medical Marijuana Regulation)

    Preferred / Required Skills

    IV & Line Management

  • IV therapy, starting / maintaining IVs
  • Central line, PICC, and arterial line management
  • Accessing / managing ports
  • Blood product administration

    • Respiratory / Thoracic

  • Ventilator management, suctioning (ETT / NT)
  • Care of ventilated and tracheostomy patients
  • High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), BiPAP / CPAP management
  • Assist with chest tube insertion / removal
  • ABG interpretation, pulmonary embolism / failure care

    • Cardiovascular

  • Post-Open Heart & Cardiac Surgery (Direct from OR)
  • Epicardial pacing wires, Impella, IABP
  • ECMO and LVAD / RVAD (preferred)
  • CABG, valve replacement / repair
  • CVP and pulmonary artery (Swan-Ganz) monitoring
  • Sheath removal, TAVR procedures

    • Renal

  • Chronic / acute renal failure management
  • CVVHD / CRRT (preferred)

    • Neurological

  • CVA / Acute Stroke management
  • EVD, lumbar drains, hypothermia protocol

    • Medications

  • Titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
  • Continuous IV sedation and paralytics
  • Emergency and procedural sedation medications

    • Other Skills

  • Phlebotomy, wound vac care, infection prevention
  • Dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • 12-lead ECG acquisition
  • Management of multisystem organ failure
  • IV insulin protocols

    • Work Settings

  • Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
  • Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU)
  • Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU)
