This is the range within which SRNS expects the majority of qualified candidates would enter this role if offered. Actual offers may be more or less than the amounts shown depending on candidate's qualifications, experience, internal equity, and other factors.

Job Family Description

Project management personnel plan, monitor and manage internal projects from initiation through completion. Program management personnel manage programs responsible for the execution of multiple projects or sub-projects. They secure required resources and use formal processes and tools to manage resources, budgets, risks, and changes. They manage projects to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.

Discipline Description

Program managers are responsible for managing organization activities and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. They perform the tasks and responsibilities associated with ongoing work efforts and oversee multiple related projects or initiatives within the organization. Program managers coordinate resources, timelines, and stakeholders to deliver outcomes that meet quality standards and drive overall success.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include :

  • The Program Manager duties include but are not limited to;
  • Cross-program / cross-agency collaborations to ensure overall successful program execution.
  • Serve as an interface with various internal line organizations and the assigned program office.
  • Provide leadership, vision, strategic and tactical planning, and overall direction for execution of the assigned portfolio, which may require multidisciplinary integration across multiple organizations.
  • Defining program work scope, schedule baselines, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; reporting cost and schedule variance; and managing change control and risk.
  • Ensure integration with other priorities and commitments, including safety, security, environmental compliance, quality, contractor assurance, and business imperatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant field plus at least ten years of experience (YOE), OR Master's degree in relevant field plus at least eight years of experience (YOE), OR Doctoral degree in relevant field plus at least five years of experience (YOE)
  • Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered

    At least 12 years of directly related technical and project management experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience directly related to the occupation.

    Experience interacting in an effective manner with NNSA and / or other federal customers.

    Working knowledge of Project Management principles and tools (e.g., Primavera P6, EVMS, Project Controls).

    Experience with program development and long-range strategic resource planning.

    Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and solve complex organizational problems.

    Experience managing shifting priorities and supporting staff. Skilled in developing performance metrics and generating monthly reports.

    Security Clearance Information

    SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and / or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance. This list of factors is not exhaustive; pre-employment information and security clearance requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
