Position Overview
We’re seeking a Pre-Sales & Network Project Engineer to support our growing base across Illinois and Missouri. This hybrid role combines technical sales, solution design, and project delivery—helping schools plan and implement infrastructure projects funded through E-Rate and capital budgets. The ideal candidate will have strong networking expertise, customer-facing skills, and experience managing projects from proposal through completion.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Sales Support
- Assist with developing and reviewing RFPs and project scopes.
- Conduct discovery meetings to define network and service requirements.
- Create solution designs, bills of materials, and proposal documentation.
- Support presentations and discussions with school leadership and IT teams.
Project Implementation & Management
Oversee implementation of awarded projects, including networking, phone, and camera systems.Coordinate internal teams and subcontractors to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.Manage project timelines, documentation, and client communications.Provide onsite support for configuration, testing, and post-deployment validation.Managed Services Discovery
Participate in assessments with prospective districts.Document infrastructure, inventory, and network topology.Provide recommendations aligned with managed services and cybersecurity offerings.Qualifications
Experience : 3–7 years in networking, IT project management, or pre-sales engineering (K–12 or public sector experience preferred).Technical Skills : LAN / WAN design, switching, routing, wireless, and network security.Experience with HPE Aruba Central, Aruba CX switches, Aruba Instant APs, and ClearPass.Familiarity with Fortinet firewalls and Secure SD-WAN is a plus.Certifications (Big Plus) :
Aruba Certified Network Professional (ACNP) or Switching Professional (ACSP)Aruba Certified Design Professional (ACDP)HPE ASE – Networking Solutions ArchitectFortinet NSE 4 – Network Security Professional (optional)Communication : Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain technical concepts clearly.Project Management : Experience leading cross-functional projects and managing subcontractors.Travel : Frequent regional travel across Central Illinois.
