Emerging Tech is seeking a Board-Certified Oncologist Physician to provide full-time on-site and on-call oncology services to Veterans as part of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Providence Healthcare System in Rhode Island. The physician will deliver comprehensive oncology care, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and support the VA’s mission to provide exceptional medical services to our nation’s Veterans.
Key Responsibilities :
Provide comprehensive oncology care, including diagnosis, treatment planning, and management of cancer patients.
Conduct consultations, follow-up visits, and ongoing monitoring to evaluate patient progress and outcomes.
Collaborate with surgeons, radiologists, pharmacists, and nursing staff to ensure coordinated and evidence-based patient care.
Interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and pathology results to guide clinical decisions.
Participate in tumor boards, clinical case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives.
Provide on-call coverage for oncology services as assigned.
Document all patient interactions accurately and promptly in the VA’s electronic medical record (EMR) system, in compliance with VA standards.
Maintain compliance with VA credentialing, privileging, and continuing professional requirements.
Minimum Qualifications :
Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from a school accredited by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA), or another accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
Current, active, full, and unrestricted medical license from any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Board Certified in Oncology.
Minimum of three (3) years of post-residency clinical experience in oncology practice preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment and maintain strong communication with clinical and administrative personnel.
Compensation and Benefits :
Competitive salary range : $365,000 – $380,000 annually, based on experience.
Eligibility for annual performance-based bonuses.
