About the Role
The Company is seeking a Senior Vice President for Philanthropy to lead the creation and implementation of a large-scale, multi-year comprehensive campaign. The successful candidate will be responsible for strategic planning and execution of fundraising activities, as well as overseeing communication efforts to secure financial support and foster strong relationships with donors and key stakeholders. This role involves close collaboration with the executive leadership team, Board of Directors, and other key partners, and requires a seasoned leader with a proven track record in nonprofit fundraising, including the ability to secure seven-figure gifts and manage high-level donor relationships with discretion.
Key responsibilities for the SVP include providing vision and leadership in philanthropy and communications, managing the development and communications budget, and building and supervising a high-performing team. The role also involves leading various gift strategies, personally managing a portfolio of high-capacity donors, and representing the organization in donor conversations. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred), a minimum of 10 years' of nonprofit fundraising experience, and at least 3 years' in leadership roles. They should be committed to ethical fundraising practices, culturally relevant practices, and have exceptional communication, interpersonal, and strategic thinking skills. Proficiency in CRM platforms and a high tolerance for a fast-paced, dynamic work environment are essential.
