About The Position

Job Title : Travel RN - PCU - Cardiac Surgical

License : Active RN license in relevant state

Certifications : ACLS

Must-Have : PCU experience

Cardiac experience

Experience with drips such as heparin, diltiazem, amiodarone, nitro, Lasix, and ketamine

Description :

This position is for a travel RN in a progressive care unit focusing on cardiac surgery.

The unit consists of 20 beds and 40 staff members including RNs and patient care technicians.

The typical patient ratios are 1 : 4.

The unit is fast-paced and requires a high level of energy and teamwork.

Common equipment utilized includes tele monitors, transport monitors, suction, feeding pumps, tracheostomy care, BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow nasal cannula, chest tubes, Foley catheters, pacer wires, IV pumps, and SCD pumps.

The electronic medical record system used is Meditech.

Candidates will perform procedures such as chest tube placement, chest tube removal, and 12-lead EKGs.

The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-acuity cardiac unit.
