PGS Worldwide is actively seeking an experienced Digital Communications Engineer to support a high-impact aerospace and defense program in San Diego, CA . In this role, you'll join a cutting-edge team focused on designing the next generation of multi-function, software-defined radios and signal processing systems for mission-critical defense applications. Required Skills and Qualifications :
- 12+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer, or related Engineering discipline (or 10+ years with a Master's / 8+ with a PhD)
- Strong foundation in digital communications systems , including modulation, coding, detection, synchronization, noise processes, and equalization
- Hands-on experience in digital communication system development within the past 3 years
- Experience in Matlab and Simulink modeling of algorithms for comm systems
- Proven track record in link budget development, modeling, and testing
- Demonstrated ability to lead product development teams
- Eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
Preferred Qualifications :
Familiarity with FPGA / ASIC development , especially optimization of HDL from Matlab / SimulinkExperience with military waveforms and open-air or flight testing of advanced comm systemsActive Top Secret Clearance with SCI strongly preferredExperience in waveform algorithm decomposition and ASIC developmentExposure to advanced prototyping environments and RF lab test setupsKey Responsibilities :
Design, model, and test digital communication architectures and signal processing systemsCollaborate with systems engineers to ensure hardware / firmware integration meets system-level requirementsWork with evaluation boards and test setups to validate proposed designsContribute to prototype development , lab demonstrations , and product deliveryProvide technical leadership , guiding teams through complex implementation cyclesReview and optimize firmware architecture and communication algorithmsJob ID : 14671
