Staffing and Medical Record Coordinator

The Staffing Coordinator / Medical Record position is a duel role.
Some of the job responsibilities of the Staffing Coordinator include :
- Completes monthly schedule based on the master schedule and staffing patterns for Nursing Department
- Manages the master schedule utilizing the electronic staffing program
- Completes and distributes daily staffing. Maintains a record of past daily staffing sheets on file. Posts daily staffing as required.
- Is able to calculate unit PPD and uses budgeted PPD to coordinate staffing.
- Keeps updates employee contact list
- Works closely with Payroll and DON to monitor overtime, sick time, agency use, allocation of hours, and vacation time.
- Keeps an updated list of open positions by unit and shift.
- Participates in CQI as assigned with the ability to apply principles to every day work environment.
- Demonstrates knowledge of Infection Control and fire and disaster policies and procedures.
- Participates in ongoing education training that pertains to current position and keeps self up to date on required in-services by center, state and federal guidelines.
Some of the job responsibilities of the Medical Record include :
Assemble admission packets of clinical forms upon admission / readmission. Make packets available to clinical staff as soon as possible once admission is expected. Stock nursing units with packets for evening / weekend admissions or readmissions.Assign medical record number (or review number assigned by admission or business office) and prepare health information forms for new admission / readmission chart.Maintain an organized medical record for each resident.Thin excess information from resident charts at regular intervals (monthly, quarterly) per Center guidelines. Maintain thinned files in an organized manner to ensure easy access.Coordinate medical record / health information closure per Center policy.Audit, gather and organize resident medical records upon discharge. Ensure that records are complete (per policy) before permanent filing. Ensure that all thinned records and misc. documents are pulled and coupled with the discharge record.Coordinate all release of health information / medical records :Communicate requests for medical records to administrator / DON and designated corporate staff per Center protocol.Benefits and incentives as the Staffing and Medical Record Coordinator
