Summary
The Warehouse Lead supports overall warehouse operations, including logistics, employee coordination, facility management, inventory control, security, safety, housekeeping, and equipment utilization — ensuring that all processes meet or exceed customer service standards.
Essential Job Functions
- Leadership : Direct and support employees involved in loading, unloading, selecting, packing, shipping, receiving, and transportation of merchandise.
- Shipment Supervision : Oversee incoming and outgoing shipment activities to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and on-time customer service.
- Equipment Operation : Operate and maneuver warehouse equipment safely, following manufacturer and company guidelines.
- Safety & Compliance : Maintain warehouse cleanliness and compliance with OSHA and other safety regulations; perform daily safety inspections.
- Routing & Logistics : Determine routing and legal load limits of trucks; inspect loading operations for compliance with shipping specifications.
- Inventory Movement : Coordinate and assist in moving materials between shipping, receiving, storage, and work areas.
- Documentation : Compile records of unfilled orders and prepare bills of lading as needed.
- Inventory Coordination : Schedule and manage the movement of inventory; coordinate transfers with related departments.
- Organization : Maintain and organize warehouse floor space according to design principles; recommend improvements for efficiency.
- Security : Secure and test warehouse alarm systems regularly.
- Equipment Maintenance : Keep equipment operational through regular maintenance and troubleshooting; report issues promptly to management.
- Performance Tracking : Measure and report department effectiveness to management in a timely manner.
- Workflow Management : Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and operational demands.
- Policy Enforcement : Interpret company policies and ensure employee compliance with safety procedures.
- Process Improvement : Recommend and implement measures to enhance service quality and departmental performance.
- Other Duties : Perform additional responsibilities as assigned and work mandatory overtime as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of supervisory or relevant warehouse experience.Ability to read, write, and perform basic math.Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Able to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.Capable of managing multiple priorities under pressure.Physical Demands
Frequent lifting or pulling of up to 30 lbs.Regular sitting, standing, communicating, reaching, bending, climbing ladders or onto trucks, and operating equipment.Manual dexterity and coordination required approximately 50% of the time.Walking on hard or uneven surfaces and repetitive use of hands, kneeling, and reaching overhead.Working Conditions
Office or warehouse environment with exposure to dust, heat, cold, and seasonal temperature changes.Moderate physical activity required throughout the shift.Company Description
