Position Summary : To provide high quality patient-focused health care services to all patients within the scope of practice through physician orders in accordance with all Texas state laws and regulations and company policies. Serves as point of contact for clinical staff at the clinic assigned and assists the physician / provider in monitoring ancillary staff in carrying out physician / provider delegated orders and tasks. Currently licensed as an RN in the state of Texas.\n\nEssential Job Functions : \n\nEvery effort has been made to make your job description as complete as possible. • Current Texas RN Nursing License or Compact State License in good standing.\n
• Two years of recent Emergency Room experience as an RN\n
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS certifications\n
• Pass background check(s)\n
• Must have exceptional technical skills (IV, Foley, NG tubes, splinting, wound care, etc..).\n
• Ability to work in a high-pressure environment while maintaining excellent patient care and customer service\n
• Ability to work all shifts including day, evening, weekends and holiday hours as needed\n
• Effective team player\n
• Detail oriented with exceptional interpersonal communication skills\n
• Efficient time management skills with ability to anticipate workflow and perform synchronous tasks\n
• Basic typing and computer proficiency, preferably experienced with Windows, Microsoft Office, EMR / EPM systems, etc...\n
• Active participant and willing to learn and perform labs as ordered by physician\n
• Support and assist team with basic facility maintenance such as emptying trash, unpacking linens and orders received and keeping the facility tidy.\n
• Other duties as assigned.\n\nLaboratory Duties : \n
• Ability to learn and master immunoassay instrument procedures including running calibrations, controls, reagents, detergents, sample testing and all consumables.\n
• Ability to learn and master simple daily immunoassay machine maintenance.\n
• Complete training in use of laboratory equipment and required documentation to comply with all OSHA and CLIA standards.\n
• Patient interview and documentation relevant to completion of lab required paperwork\n
• Decanting of urine specimens into sample tubes and completion of immunoassay testing per protocols within standard operating procedures (SOPs) and / or instruction manual for laboratory machines.\n
• Perform laboratory testing on patient samples per SOPs and instruction manuals, including proper daily controls and intermittent calibrations as required.\n
• Perform corrective actions as required and simple routine maintenance of lab equipment as instructed in training, SOPs, and equipment instruction manuals.\n
• Prepare report of machine assays in such a fashion that can be placed into the physician's medical records.\n
• Contact equipment servicer, Lab Director, Clinical Consultant, or technical consultant as needed for assistance.\n
• Dispose of hazardous and non-hazardous waste per OSHA guidelines\n
• Properly prepare labs billing sheets, and supply billing company with copy of patient insurance face sheet and insurance ID card by FAX transmittal or as otherwise required.\n
• Maintain proper inventory of consumables, office supplies, and paperwork necessary to continue daily operations.\n
• Assist in Lab operations as directed by Nurse Manager or other delegated authority. Such duties may include but are not limited to inventory management accounting and marketing.\n
• Report immediately to Nurse Manager any clinical, equipment, or business issues that arise during operations that are unusual, hazardous, disruptive, or that require corrective actions.\n\nPhysical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; walk; sit; stoop; reach; balance; talk or hear. When appropriate, the employee must occasionally transfer, lift and / or move patient(s). The employee must occasionally lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Employee must be able to perform CPR.\n\nVisual Abilities : Specific vision abilities required by the job include distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, close vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.\n\nWork Environment : While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to some hazards as described in materials safety data sheets and in accordance with OSHA standards. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
