Programmer Analyst

Overview

Position : IT / Programming professional technical work in designing and programming management information systems in the Department of Information and Telecommunication Services. This is an emergency essential classification; upon declaration of a disaster or emergency, employees in this classification are required to work.

Salary : $64,875.20 Annually

Education and experience : Associate of science degree in computer science or a bachelors degree in computer science or a related field, and one year of programming experience; or any equivalent combination of directly related education, training and / or experience. Applicants within six months of meeting the education / experience requirement may be considered for trainee status. Successful completion of all applicable background checks pre-hire and ongoing are required.

Responsibilities

• Modify systems and existing programs to produce information and reports in response to user needs.
• Assist team members in developing new and / or revised systems by writing programs.
• Analyze information objectives and / or needs and prepare system flow charts for achieving desired reports.
• Analyze input requirements and design output reports based on user needs.
• Work with Programmers providing technical assistance and training to provide desired information to users.
• Write advanced programs and complete testing and debugging to produce desired information.
• Analyze information from users to modify and / or simplify current operating systems.
• Exude a positive customer service focus.
• Perform the duties listed, as well as those assigned, with professionalism and a sense of urgency.
