Position Summary
The Sheet Metal Operator is responsible for operating, setting up, and maintaining sheet metal fabrication equipment to produce high-quality components according to specifications. This role involves interpreting blueprints, using hand and power tools, and ensuring safety and quality standards are consistently met.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate sheet metal machinery such as press brakes, shears, punch presses, rollers, and CNC fabrication equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
- Measure, cut, bend, and form sheet metal to required specifications.
- Perform routine machine setups and adjustments to maintain accuracy and productivity.
- Inspect finished parts to ensure they meet quality standards and tolerances.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area, following company safety protocols.
- Report equipment malfunctions or maintenance needs promptly.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet production goals and deadlines.
- Assist with material handling, including loading and unloading sheet metal stock.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (technical training preferred).Basic math skills and mechanical aptitude.Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and safety.Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.Preferred Skills
Experience with press brake, punch press or laser cutting machines.Responsible for quality including first piece and in-process inspections.Identify and understand tooling, fixtures, and fixture components.Familiarity with lean manufacturing practices.Prior experience in sheet metal fabrication or manufacturing environment.Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.Proficient with hand tools, measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, tape measures), and fabrication equipment.Trouble shoots problems by using problem solving techniques.Work with a sense of urgencyDesire to learn new skillsMeet basic standard production rate and continually improve efficiency.Ability to get along with others, be punctual, and follow instruction.Ability to work flexible hours as needed including job rotation and / or overtime.Physical Demands

This position requires working in a manufacturing / production environment with exposure to noise, dust, and machinery. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.
Monday - Friday - start time flexible 6am, 7am or 8am. Rare partial Saturday morning.
