Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced OR RN with Level I trauma experience and an active IN or compact RN license to join our team for a weekend night position.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a short-term acute care hospital operating room setting
  • Covers a wide variety of surgical specialties including general, plastics, GYN, ENT, neuro, ortho, trauma, GU, colorectal, and robotics
  • 21 OR suites with an average daily census of 70-80 cases
  • Night shift, three 12-hour shifts from 19 : 00 to 07 : 30 on weekends
  • Six on-call shifts required within a six-week period
  • Floating within scope to other areas or affiliate hospitals is required
  • Uses Cerner EMR system; Cerner experience preferred
  • Scrubs provided
  • Responsible for circulating in a variety of surgical specialties; no CV or transplant cases required
  • Well-rounded OR skills required due to assignment across multiple specialties
  • All RNs must float between units and to affiliate hospitals as needed
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Locals from Indiana are accepted for perioperative surgical services positions
  • All returning IU perm or PRN employees must wait 12 months before applying as a traveler
  • Modules required for onboarding, completed via online learning system prior to start

  • Requirements

  • Active IN or compact RN license required; must be in hand prior to start
  • Minimum 3 years of OR RN experience required, including recent Level I trauma experience
  • BLS certification (AHA or RQI accepted and must be current)
  • Ability to circulate required; scrub preferred
  • Graduation from an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
  • Must be able to provide two supervisor references
  • Must work 2 out of 3 major holidays as part of the schedule
  • No pending license accepted for consideration
