Position Summary :
The Customer Service Representative (CSR) assists all patients, employees and customers that come into the office, send emails, or call by telephone. This includes helping them with their bills, insurance information, processing payments, payroll deductions, general account questions, complaints, giving and receiving financial assistance applications and any other concern or questions they may have.
Qualifications :
Education :
High school diploma required.
Associate or bachelor’s degree in business related field preferred.
Experience
One (1) years’ experience in hospital billing preferred.
Previous experience in Hospital or facility billing or collections preferred.
Knowledge and understanding of the collection laws of South Carolina required.

Duties & Responsibilities :
Processes daily payments from auto-draft payments that patients have set up on a payment plan from collection agencies, telephone payments, payments that come in through the mail, other co-workers, other departments’ payments, and anyone that comes in the office to pay.
Responsible for completing a deposit of all monies posted during the day. This consists of all payments posted in both Electronic Medical Records (EMR’s). All payments are added and balanced to match each report in each system.
Helps customers with their bills, insurance information, processing payments, payroll deductions, general account questions, complaints, giving and receiving financial assistance applications and any other concerns or questions they may have.
Greet all patients and their accompanying family members when applicable and provide exemplary customer service.
Work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues, physicians, and department heads.
Effectively utilize strong organizational skills.
Consistently display effective verbal and written communication skills.
proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Explorer, and PowerPoint.
Proficient use / understanding of technology / PC skills.
Regularly exercise independent judgement.
