DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote dental health through dental prophylaxis, oral cancer screenings, radiographic studies, and compliance with the Dental Practice Act.
  • Engage with patients by welcoming, seating, and preparing them for dental hygiene treatment.
  • Provide answers and information to patients and staff regarding inquiries and requests.
  • Maintain tools for dental hygiene by sharpening, sterilizing, and selecting the appropriate instruments.
  • Evaluate patients' oral health to select relevant materials and equipment for dental hygiene visits.
  • Perform dental prophylaxis by cleaning teeth and removing deposits and stains.
  • Detect oral diseases by conducting screenings and examining gums, using probes to locate periodontal issues, and performing radiographic studies.
  • Apply fluorides and other agents to prevent cavities and address dental decay.

    • DENTAL HYGIENIST JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Possess a valid dental hygiene license in Missouri.
  • Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology is essential.
  • Understanding of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients on oral health practices.
