Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Works effectively within assigned authority delegation, including recommendations for amendments as appropriate.
- Program specifics underwriting review and approval, declination or other recommendation for Program Administrator generated referrals within authority.
- Provides recommendations to Team Leader and Program Manager for program specific or division wide underwriting amendments to coverage, pricing and underwriting approach as necessary.
- Works collaboratively on behalf of P&C Programs with other underwriting support teams within Arch including Property, Ceded Re; Product, Corporate Underwriting, Actuarial and Compliance.
- Assists Program Manager with in person or remote underwriting audits of assigned programs. When appropriate assists on other programs for peer audits.
- Independently represents the division to internal and external constituents on underwriting issues or projects that impact assigned programs.
- Collaborate with Program Managers in annual planning process and ongoing measurement to insure plans and results are in alignment with underwriting strategies for each program.
- When requested, assist or lead with special projects to improve underwriting results within P&C Programs or corporately.
Required Skills and Abilities
Skills & Competencies : Technical Job skills, Teamwork & Interpersonal skills, Communication, Problem Solving, Strategic Thinking, Management & Leadership, Company & Industry Knowledge.Candidates must have at least 3 years of commercial lines underwriting experience, with 5 or more years preferred.Travel up to 15% is expected for external (Program Administrator visits and events) and internal meetings (Jersey City, NJ for support unit meetings and professional development training).Position is based in Hartford, CT.#LI-AM3
