About The Position

Job Title : Interventional Radiology Specialist Profession : Radiology / Cardiology Specialty : Interventional Radiology Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift : 07 : 30 - 16 : 00 Experience : Previous interventional radiology experience preferred License : Valid ARRT / ODH license required Certifications : BLS required; ACLS preferred Must-Have : Epic experience Description : Call may be required, and this will be discussed during the interview. Performs interventional radiology procedures of diagnostic quality as ordered by the referring physician and / or radiologist on patients of all ages according to established protocols. Obtains clinical history and data for correlation with the interventional radiology procedure. Implements screening and safety measures in accordance with prescribed policies and procedures. Performs daily and weekly quality control as required. Prepares and administers contrast media to patients according to policy. Practices sterile techniques. Assists radiologists in interventional radiology procedures and in performing medical treatment during emergency situations. Coordinates patient care with other areas to optimize patient time and satisfaction. Assesses learning needs and educates patients and families regarding procedures based on individual needs. Thoroughly educates patients about exams. Ensures all records, files, and reports are properly recorded as required and performs clerical duties when necessary. Verifies a signed physician order is received and corresponds with the billed procedure. Maintains knowledge of the locations and operation of all emergency equipment in the unit. Follows radiation safety policies and procedures. The department provides diagnostic and therapeutic procedures for all types of patients, including inpatients and outpatients. Comprehensive services and trained staff are available to meet any diagnostic or therapeutic needs the patient may have. Staff receives initial orientation and subsequent annual competencies related to the psychosocial, physical, cognitive, and other needs of the patients served.
