Job description

Dates of Coverage :

  • One week per month

Schedule & Shifts :

  • Monday-Friday : 8 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM
  • Weekend / Night call coverage (Call Ratio : 1 : 2)

    • Practice Setting :

  • Hospital-based

    • Responsibilities :

  • Clinical Lab : Blood bank and hematology, focusing on resolving difficult antibodies and reviewing blood smears.
  • Supervision : The locum will supervise histotechnologists, pathology assistants, and cytotechnologists.
  • Procedures : Includes surgical pathology, GI pathology, GU pathology, dermatopathology, cytology, and autopsy. The provider must also attend fine needle aspiration procedures and give immediate adequacy statements.

    • Additional Details :

  • No grossing of specimens or cutting of frozen sections is required.
  • Microscopes : Olympus
  • Cryostat : Leica
  • Cytology : Surepath preparation
  • Documentation System : CoPath

    • Required Qualifications :

  • Board Certification in Pathology (required)
  • IA License (or willingness to obtain)
  • APCP Board Certification (required)
