Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with at least 1 year of home health experience and a current HI license for a day shift home health position in Hawaii.

Responsibilities

  • Home health setting serving geriatric and adult patients in their homes
  • Work involves periodic floating to Oahu, Maui, and the Big Island with all travel expenses covered
  • Day shift, 5x8 hour schedule from 8 : 00 to 16 : 30
  • Productivity requirement of 25 units per week
  • Documentation is completed using MatrixCare EMR
  • Main responsibilities include comprehensive assessment, patient family education, home exercise programming, and development of plan of care
  • Patients primarily present with chronic and complex conditions such as COPD, CHF, CABG, MI, PVD, dementia, Parkinson's disease, and post-stroke rehab needs
  • Preferred skills include wound care, acute care, lymphedema management, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury experience
  • Floating between islands may occur to ensure continuity of care
  • Scrubs of any color and closed-toed shoes are required
  • No online modules are required for orientation

    • Requirements

  • Active HI PT license required for consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of recent home health experience required
  • Current BLS certification from AHA required
  • Experience with geriatric, neurology, orthopedic, and home health populations required
  • Proficiency in MatrixCare EMR is required
  • Skills needed include adaptive / assistive devices, assessment, OASIS, time management, and post-op rehab
  • First-time travelers will be considered
