Overview
Responsible for all aspects of trading and marketing of palm / vegetable oils and fats in the USA, including developing new markets and new accounts. Collaborate with a small team of trade operation staff responsible for coordinating US and international shipping and supply chain logistics.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for palm oil and fat trading and marketing activities. (Products include Commodity Oil and Specialty Fats)
- P&L Management (focus on costs, price, margins, inventory, customer growth)
- Ensure official execution and full completion of trades.
- Manage all aspects of trading and marketing, including developing strategies for new markets and new accounts, and negotiating contracts with customers.
- Develop and manage strong relationships with customers, key suppliers, and agents.
- Develop new accounts and expand sales of Commodity Oils.
- Track and communicate to colleagues developments in the market and relevant market intelligence, including supply and demand balances and competitor activities.
- Develop long, medium, and short-term action plans to achieve operational targets of trading and marketing activities.
- Provide a monthly analysis of the US vegetable oil and fat market and its impact by the macroeconomic environment
- Regularly inform and update Company Management on market trends, risks, and business progress.
- Work effectively with an established team of trade operations staff who are responsible for coordinating US and international supply chains.
- Ensure all trading activity is carried out in compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.
Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Chemistry, and EngineeringMinimum of 6 years of trading and marketing experience with at least 5 years in US vegetable oils and fatsKnowledge of the US vegetable oil and fat market – its dynamics, structure, and playersKnowledge of the dynamics of the global vegetable oil marketExcellent in written and oral communication skills in EnglishAbility to function effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic business environmentLeadership skills and ability to influence across functions and divisions without direct line authorityStrong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain good relationshipsHigh energy, well-organized, self-starter with intense drive for results, and must possess excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skillsStrong commercial attitude and competitive driveExcellent competency in building and managing interpersonal relationships at all levels of the companyStrong attention to detailDemonstrate strong initiative and ability to work independently within defined standard operating proceduresIndependently motivated to produce resultsThis role will require flexibility to travel domestically & international (up to 25%)Seniority level
