Job Description
American Traveler is hiring an experienced CT Technologist for a night shift position requiring WA state license and ARRT (CT) certification.
Responsibilities
Position is in an acute care radiology department with one CT scanner, one X-ray room, and one portable X-rayNight shift schedule from 5 : 00 PM to 5 : 30 AM, Tuesday through ThursdayGraveyard shift is solo with responsibility for both CT and general X-ray coverageAverage caseload is 2-6 CT scans and 1-4 X-rays per nightProcedures include CT scans with and without contrast (head, spine, abdomen, pelvis, CTA PE, runoff, extremities) and general X-rays (chest, PICC line and tube placements, trauma fractures)Must be able to start IVs when necessaryDepartment uses Epic for EMR and McKesson PACSEquipment includes Toshiba 64-slice CT scanner, Carestream X-ray room, and a new GE portable X-rayNo call requirementsFloating is required between CT and General X-ray as neededEPIC training is completed in Tacoma, followed by onsite orientation during the first weekMust wear scrubs of your choosingHoliday shifts are worked if on the scheduleNo registered radiology assistants are used in the departmentRadiologist onsite Monday, Wednesday, and Friday 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM; otherwise teleradiology coverageFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyDepartment manager can assist with obtaining a radiation badge if absolutely neededRequirements
Minimum 2 years of CT Technologist experienceActive WA state license required; license required if applicableCertified CT Technologist with ARRT (CT) credentialsCurrent BLS certification (AHA)Ability to work independently as sole graveyard staff between 11 : 00 PM and 7 : 00 AMExperience with Epic EMR and McKesson PACS preferredMust provide or arrange to obtain a radiation badgeAbility to start IVs independentlyTwo recent references required : one supervisor reference from the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years, both with dates of employment and rehire eligibilityCopy of driver’s license required for considerationBenefits
