Student Nurse Extern

Summary

• ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Provides developmentally appropriate psychosocial and clinical care respective to the assigned patient populations. Participates in assigned educational activities. May provide more sophisticated clinical treatments for assigned patients while assisting the RN and under that RN’s direct observation and supervision. Performs other duties as assigned. Student Nurse Externs must be available to work full-time during the 10-week program.
• LICENSES AND / OR CERTIFICATIONS CPR Training required and / or must be obtained within 45 days of hire.
• MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS Must be currently enrolled in an Associates, Diploma, or Bachelors of Science Nursing program, with completion of at least two semesters of clinical rotation.
• WORKING CONDITIONS Normal office and patient care environments with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like. Occasional exposure to communicable diseases.
