Education Specialist

Position Summary :

The Education Specialist will help ensure the implementation of the out-of-school time curricula by offering facilitators ongoing support and guidance.

Essential Duties :

• Understand and promote the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
• Facilitate regular curriculum meetings with academic specialists / facilitators, who model best practices and allow group members to reflect on their experience and problem-solve.
• Conduct regular observations of Academic Specialists and Facilitators at work in their classrooms and provide feedback to improve and strengthen instruction.
• Review young people's work on an ongoing basis to assess the engagement level and determine learning needs.
• Act as a liaison between regular school day, out-of-school time programs, and teachers to ensure program quality.
• Communicate regularly with the Center or Program Director regarding curricula implementation issues, particularly concerning Academic Specialists' and group leaders' materials / supplies needs.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Masters (preferred)

Experience

Department of Education Teaching Certification. (required)
