Neuro and Trauma Care experience

Description :

The unit has 44 beds and a staff of 95.

The day shift includes 2 CNC / Charge Nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC.

The night shift includes 2 CNC / Charge Nurses, 11 RNs, 4 CNAs, and 1 HUC.

The patient ratios are 4 : 1 at grid and 5 : 1 when stretched.

Typical equipment includes IV pumps, Skylift, PCA pump, chest tubes, trachs, and patient lifts.

The EMR system used is Cerner.

Common procedures performed on the unit include neuro and spinal checks, C-Collar placement, TLSO braces, chest tube insertions, PCA pump usage, IV infusions, lumbar drain, feeding tube placement, and blood transfusions.

The ideal candidate should be a team player and patient-focused.

The position involves floating to stepdown and med-surg units.

There is a requirement to work every other weekend.

The position is a contractor replacement.
