Surgical Technologist - Full Time

Position : Surgical Technologist

Department :   Operating Room - Mercy Lebanon

Hours / Shift : Full-Time Days, 40 Hours Per Week

Call Back Requirement : 40 Minutes

Overview :

Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality.

Job Duties :

• Anticipates surgeon and operative team members needs regarding care delivery, maintaining sterile technique and comfort.
• Assist surgeon in a knowledgeable, efficient and courteous manner.
• Knows procedure and / or utilizes preference cards to assure instrument and equipment needs are available so team can stay patient focused
• Inspects instruments and power equipment prior to use to assure operational order and troubleshoots, reports, and removes faulty instrument and equipment from service.
• Performs or assists in sterile preps as needed / requested by monitoring aseptic techniques of surgical team members at field, reporting and correcting breaks in sterile technique immediately, and controlling location of contaminated instruments and supplies
