Job description

The Investment Consultant role at Schwab offers an exciting entry-level opportunity in financial consulting. You'll focus on building valuable client relationships and driving business growth through insightful needs-based analysis.

In this dynamic position, financial licenses including Series 7 and Series 66 are required, and you will have the chance to pursue additional certifications, such as CFP. The role prioritizes personal growth, ongoing mentorship, and the delivery of tailored financial solutions to our existing client base, all while preparing for advancement to a Financial Consultant position.

As an Investment Consultant, you'll get hands-on experience within our Branch Network, laying the groundwork for your career advancement to Financial Consultant. This position equips you to build a thriving book of business through proactive outreach to existing Schwab clients, expertly identifying opportunities, and offering the right products and solutions. You will also benefit from collaborating with experienced Financial Consultants, learning how to deliver exceptional service and value through strong mentorship. What You Have

Success in this position demands a commitment to high performance and superior client service. Essential qualifications include :

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work-related experience
  • Valid and active Series 7 license (required)
  • Valid and active Series 66 (or 63 / 65) license (must be obtained within 120 days of employment)
  • Valid and active Life and Health Insurance license (must be obtained within 120 days of employment)
  • Preferred Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification
  • A minimum of two years of experience in the financial services industry (required)
  • Financial business development experience (highly preferred)
  • Knowledge of brokerage and banking products and services
  • Strong client relationship-building skills

According to SAFE Act requirements, all employees involved in residential loan mortgage originations must register with the NMLS registry system and remain in good standing. Registration and a necessary background check will be required.
