Job Summary

North Country Hospital, a 25-bed critical access facility in Newport, VT, is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to work in the PCU / MedSurg / Telemetry units. This is a night shift position with an every-other-weekend rotation. The nurse will provide comprehensive patient care, perform charge nurse duties, and float to other units as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality patient care in PCU, MedSurg, and Telemetry settings
  • Perform charge nurse duties and function independently with minimal supervision
  • Float to other departments based on facility needs
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses
  • Comply with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards

    • Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – Vermont or compact state
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, MedSurg, or Telemetry experience
  • BLS and ACLS certifications – required
  • Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend
  • Strong critical thinking and communication skillsures
