Must-Have :

• Experience with cardiac surgery patients.
• Comfortable with Post Operative Day 1 hearts.

Description :

Registered Nurse with a specialty in CVICU is needed for a high-acuity unit.

The nurse will care for adults in a unit with a daily census of 1 to 8 patients.

Familiarity with managing dysrhythmias and post-cardiac surgery care is essential.

The position requires the ability to assist with chest tube insertion and removal.

Experience caring for ventilated patients and managing IV insulin protocols is necessary.

The nurse will be responsible for a patient ratio of 1 : 2.

Call shifts are required, with a total of 4 call shifts in a 6-week schedule.

Floating between units of equivalent or lower acuity may be required.

The work environment includes a focus on team communication and collaboration.

Weekend work is required, approximately every third weekend.

The nurse will engage in procedures related to coronary artery bypass graft and other structural heart procedures.

Ventilator management and caring for patients on IABP and ECMO are important aspects of this role.

The nurse will utilize electronic charting systems for patient documentation and care coordination.

Interdisciplinary support teams play an integral role in patient care.
