When you join Wounded Warrior Project (WWP), you're committing to making a difference. We make a commitment to you, too - helping you to find that spark, ignite your passion to serve, and embark on a career with meaning and purpose.

At WWP, we recognize our mission cannot be accomplished without our talented teammates, which is why we're proud to offer benefits such as :

  • A flexible hybrid work schedule (three days in the office, two days' work from home)
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage for both teammates AND family members
  • Competitive pay and performance incentives
  • A fun, mission-focused, and collaborative team environment

A mission that matters is just the beginning, so if you're ready to get started, we're ready for you.

The Wounded Warrior Project (WWP) Outreach Transition Specialist builds and maintains strong connections with service members, veterans, and their families by leading outreach initiatives and engagement events within designated local or regional areas. This role serves as a key liaison between WWP and military installations, transition programs, medical facilities, and community partners to support warriors' successful integration into WWP programs and services. The Outreach Transition Specialist independently plans and executes events, facilitates resource navigation, and fosters relationships that support the long-term well-being of wounded warriors and their families. The position requires travel, event coordination, public speaking, and the ability to respond compassionately to participants in crisis, while adhering to WWP's mission, values, and protocols.

Manage multiple events simultaneously, adapting quickly to challenges by modifying logistics, procedures, or approaches as needed.

Provide crisis support to veterans and family members experiencing emotional distress, following WWP protocols and making appropriate referrals.

Engagement & Support :

Build meaningful connections with active duty service members, veterans, and families by communicating WWP program benefits, fostering trust, and encouraging engagement.

Assess individual warrior needs and connect them with appropriate WWP services and resources to support long-term recovery.

Maintain comprehensive knowledge of military, veteran, and WWP-specific resources to offer informed guidance and referrals.

Develop and sustain partnerships with local organizations and community stakeholders through collaboration and joint initiatives.

Represent WWP locally by participating in speaking engagements, donor events, recognition ceremonies, and community organizations as needed.

Apply expense management best practices, identifying cost-saving measures such as in-kind donations, vendor discounts, and tax-exempt purchases.

Maintain accurate and secure records in internal systems such as Salesforce and Blackthorn.

Maintain regular, proactive communication with the Alumni Manager and Regional Director, providing timely updates on outreach activities, event execution, warrior engagement, and budget performance.

Assist in identifying and responding to participant safety concerns by applying organizational protocols for crisis response, de-escalation, and follow-up, with appropriate referrals as needed.
