Description : Unit Notes :
Prescreen and auto offer as long as requested time off is less than 7 days and no holiday requests.
Clinician must take and pass a dysrhythmia exam within two attempts prior to signing a contract.
If clinician fails to score 80% in two attempts, they will not be eligible for rehire for 6 months.
Candidates may not have worked full time, part time, or PRN with any facility associated with the system within the past year.
The unit has a total of 12 beds available.
Common patient diagnoses include COVID, low-level neuro, DKA, sepsis, and post-surgical care.
Nurses will care for fresh open-heart patients if they have relevant experience.
Nurses are required to interpret Arterial Blood Gases (ABGs).
Preferred experience includes IABP and Prismaflex CRRT.
Work involves a patient ratio of 1 : 1-2 in the ICU based on acuity, and 1 : 3-4 in the step-down area.
Nurses will be involved in titrating critical care drips including pressors, sedation, and anticoagulants.
Charge nurses will only take an assignment as a last resort to avoid compromising care.
There are Intensivists and Hospitalists on-site 24 / 7 for support.
Nurses are responsible for monitoring telemetry and must be able to read their own strips.
Shifts are scheduled 4 weeks in advance, with limited self-scheduling options available.
Weekend requirements include working four shifts per pay period, with varied weekend availability.
Holidays will be required on a rotational basis, with specific requirements around winter holidays.
Floating to other units may occur based on staffing needs.
Professional scrubs are required, with a specific color code to be followed.
General orientation details are to be completed prior to assuming responsibilities.
