Job descriptionServe as the first point of contact for IT users responding to inquiries via phone, email, chat, or in person. Diagnose and resolve common hardware issues (desktops, laptops, printers, mobile devices, password resets, software installs). Configure and deploy HP desktops, laptops, and Surface Pros for new hires, hardware repairs, and end-of-life replacements. Image and set up PCs with operating systems, software, networking / VPN, and security configurations. Resolve escalated Help Desk hardware issues and complex end-user requests. Diagnose and fix hardware and software compatibility problems. Install and configure peripherals such as docking stations, printers, and monitors. Lead or support hardware replacement projects across the organization. Use tools and ticketing systems to guide users step by step toward solution, documenting all interactions. Troubleshoot hardware failures and some software issues / compatibility issues and provide end-users with solutions. Assist with the installation of hardware and peripheral components like docking stations, printers, keyboards and monitors. Assist with onboarding new employees : basic workstation setup, software access, and account provisioning. Maintain and contribute to the knowledge base by documenting FAQs, resolved issues, and best practices. Assist in asset tracking, inventory logs, and generate usage and issue-trend reports as needed. Participate in occasional on-call or after-hours rotation to help maintain continuity of service outside standard hours. High School diploma or GED (or equivalent). 1 + year of technical support experience, PC hardware sales, IT inventory / asset management, or PC repair experience. Solid familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and basic troubleshooting on Windows (and / or macOS) systems. Knowledge and ability to perform basic troubleshooting of Microsoft Windows 10 / 11 and MS Office 365. Knowledge of HP desktops, laptops and thin clients, Microsoft Surface Pro line experience preferred. Ability to clearly communicate technical information to non-technical users, both verbally and in writing. Basic networking knowledge (Ethernet, Wi-Fi, VPN) and peripheral setup. Customer-service orientation, strong attention to detail, multitasking ability, and organizational skills. A+ Certification or equivalent technical coursework a plus. Experience with Active Directory, software licensing, mobile device management, and Adobe a plus. America's largest metal food packaging producer. Help Desk Level I, Hardware
