Job Description :

The lecturer will teach 3 courses per semester at the discretion of the department chair and perform services as necessary including :

  • Organizing the Junior Accounting Orientation.
  • Directing the EY Leads program.
  • Attending department meetings and serving on selected School committees

Primary Responsibilities :

  • Instruction and preparation. Will teach a 3-3 teaching load.
  • Other services and duties such as JAO and EY Leads
  • Functional and Supervisory Relationships :

  • Reports to : Chair, Dept of Accounting and Law
  • Job Requirements :

  • Knowledge of different subjects of Accounting in order to teach them, including intermediate and advanced financial accounting, managerial accounting, auditing, accounting information systems, government and not-for-profit accounting, etc.
  • Requirements :

    Minimum Qualifications :

  • Master's degree or doctorate degree (e.g. DBA) in Accounting or related field from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization.
  • In their application materials, candidates must address their plan and ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in varying modalities (in-person, online, and / or hybrid).
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to develop inclusive and equitable relationships within our diverse campus community
  • Applicants must demonstrate an ability to support diversity, equity, access, inclusion, and belonging relative to their role
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience teaching different courses in Accounting
  • Potential to teach in the three graduate programs
  • A PhD in Accounting or a related field (e.g. Analytics, MIS, Informatics or Economics) from a college or University accredited by the US Department of Education or internationally recognized accrediting organization
  • CPA - Current NYS CPA or equivalent
  • Evidence of institutional service
  • Working Environment :

    Professional Rank and Salary Range : Lecturer (10 Months), A0, Salary commensurate with experience.
