Role Overview
Join a high-performing team dedicated to delivering timely, compliant, and high-quality repairs of medical devices—especially flexible endoscopes. You will perform micro-assembly and subassembly work using microscopes, small hand tools, and power tools to restore surgical devices to exact specifications and provide a superior Customer experience.
Training provided — no previous medical device repair experience required.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Location : Chesterfield, MO Repair Lab
- Workstation : Dedicated bench
- Hours : Monday–Thursday, 6 : 00 a.m. – 4 : 45 p.m.
- Flexibility : Early / late hours and occasional evenings / weekends to support Customer and business demands
Core Responsibilities
Execute basic to intermediate repairs and refurbishments of surgical devices in accordance with specifications.Identify defects using standardized testing methods; replace or repair defective components.Troubleshoot issues, reassemble instruments, and test assemblies to confirm conformance.Escalate risks and issues in a timely, effective manner.Follow Standard Work Instructions (SWI) and support Company ISO goals and requirements.Conduct workplace organization audits and safety observations per site standards.Adhere to all safety and health policies; wear PPE as required.Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED.2+ years of work experience with at least 1 year of relevant repair / assembly / product testing, or 1 year with STERIS; all experience must be verifiable.Relevant / transferable experience may include : small engine repair; cell phone / electronics repair, testing, or rebuilds; carpentry; circuit board assembly / repair; industrial sewing; jewelry repair; maintenance; construction; and automotive repair.Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and push instrument carts ranging from 10–150 lbs at times.Ability to support flexible schedules, including outside normal business hours as needed.Related certifications in technical or mechanical areas, competitive equipment training, or related military experience may be considered toward the experience requirement.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with soldering, brazing, or similar fine mechanical work.Vocational / Technical degree.Certifications in technical training.What STERIS Offers
