Registered Nurse (RN), PrOp / PACU

Job Description

Under the direction of the Director, Department Manager, and supervisor the RN will assess, perform, document and evaluate professional independent nursing practice and perform related duties below :

• Confirms scheduled date and time of surgery with the patient or designated caregiver
• Admits patient to the perioperative area, assess patient and prepares the patient for surgery / planned procedure
• Receives and monitors the patient’s condition post procedure per PACU, SDS and SDEX orders
• Works collaboratively with surgeons and anesthesia team to assure safe, timely emergence for anesthesia
• Effectively communicates discharge instructions with patients and families for their post- operative care after discharge
• Other duties as assigned

Work Schedule

This is a 0.6 FTE (48 hours / per pay period). This position will be 12-hour night shifts . Position includes every fourth weekend. One holiday a year expected.
