Levindale is accredited by the Joint Commission and Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities.\n\nAbout the Unit : \n\nUNIT SUMMARY : The Brain Health Unit is comprised of two 40-bed units. Staff members in the BHU are good communicators and are able to set boundaries, hold confidences, and establish and maintain trust. Patients in the BHU are admitted with medical and psych diagnoses. The length of their stay is 23 days, which provides an opportunity for clinical staff to analyze a patient's behavior and cultivate a relationship that may help a patient see him- or herself in a better way. During their stay, patients will receive help with medication management and rehabilitation services if needed. Staff members will also assist in engaging patients in group activities and one-on-one exercises.\n\nJOB SUMMARY : \n\nUnder the supervision of the Registered Nurse / Director of Nursing, the Licensed Practical Nurse utilizes a general understanding of the principles of nursing and basic physical assessment skills in the development of and implementation of individualized nursing care plans to ensure that the needs of the residents are met. Attends to the daily operations of the unit on a per shift, unit level, and assumes responsibilities of a leadership role as needed.\n\nREQUIREMENTS : \n
• Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field; Less than one year experience; Graduate of accredited school of nursing (diploma).\n
• License for Practical Nursing and AHA BLS CPR Certification.\n
