Community Engagement Manager
Pima County is excited to announce an opportunity for a dynamic Community Engagement Manager to join the Pima County Public Library leadership team!
In this role, you'll work closely with the branch manager to provide strong, collaborative leadership at the Woods Memorial Library, supporting an incredible team of librarians serving all service levels. You'll help ensure that branch programming and services not only align with the mission, vision, and goals of the library system but also reflect and respond to the unique needs and interests of the Woods Memorial Library communities.
You'll take the lead on the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of community engagement programs, partnering with affinity teams and community organizations to build meaningful connections with culturally diverse populations. A deep understanding of the local communityespecially the Black, refugee and immigrant, and unhoused communitiesis essential, as these are key partners and voices in our shared work. There will be a particular emphasis on enhancing and growing tween services and engagement, ensuring that this important age group has access to welcoming spaces, enriching programs, and meaningful opportunities to connect as well as strengthening staff training opportunities.
At the systemwide level, you'll also help lead and support initiatives developed by the Community Engagement Office, participate on teams and task forces, and provide leadership and support for tween services across the system. This includes a special focus on enhancing and expanding tween programming and engagement opportunities, ensuring that tween learners and participants across the county are supported through innovative and inclusive services.

With diverse responsibilities and skills related to effective communication, supervision, and project management are essential to success in this role. This position may be required to work rotating shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Essential Functions :
Minimum Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in a program-related field, as defined by the appointing authority at the time of recruitment AND four (4) years of professional level experience in coordinating, monitoring, administering or managing program or specialized work unit activities.
OR
Four (4) years of experience with Pima County in a professional administrative classification and at least one year in a supervisory capacity.

Pima County Human Resources Department reserves the right to admit to the selection process only those candidates that meet the minimum qualifications. All applications will be assessed based on an evaluation of the listed education and experience. Candidates meeting the minimum qualifications may be further evaluated / scored against any advertised Preferred Qualifications. The hiring authority will interview and select the successful candidate from a referral list provided by Human Resources. Additional assessments / testing may be required as part of the selection process.

Valid driver license is required at time of application. Valid AZ driver license is required at time of appointment. The successful applicant will be subject to a 39-month DOT Motor Vehicle Record review to determine applicant's suitability to operate county vehicles in accordance with Pima County administrative procedures. Failure to obtain and maintain the required licenses and certifications shall be grounds for termination. Any offer of employment resulting from this recruitment is contingent upon Fleet Services' review and approval of the candidate's driving record.
The County requires pre-employment background checks. Successful candidates will receive a post-offer, pre-employment background screening to include verification of work history, education, and criminal conviction history. A prior criminal conviction will not automatically disqualify a candidate from employment with the County.
