Summary :
We are looking for a detail-oriented Clinical Laboratory Technician / Assistant to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will accurately evaluate specimen orders and enter clinical data into various computer systems. You will identify any missing or invalid data and take prompt action to correct it. Additionally, you will operate automated and semi-automated equipment per our standard operating procedures, ensuring precise communication regarding supply deficiencies.
Responsibilities :

- Accurately document all necessary information, including processing logs, quality control, and reagent labeling.
- Cleans, sanitizes, and maintains laboratory equipment and glassware to keep our workspace safe and efficient.
- Maintain and distribute laboratory supplies effectively.
- Package laboratory biohazard waste for disposal according to established standards.
- Oversee the laboratory coat supply and ensure its availability.
- Order, receive, stock, ship, and track laboratory equipment and supplies efficiently.
- Confirm that all equipment is functioning appropriately or schedule repairs as needed.
- Keep track of equipment calibrations and preventative maintenance to ensure peak performance.
- Maintain an inventory of all consumables and reagents accurately.
- Assist in the disposal of biohazard and chemical waste in compliance with regulations.
- Support the enforcement of all laboratory policies and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
- Uphold safety protocols surrounding personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Follow established guidelines for safety, infection control, security, compliance, and hazardous material handling.
Job Requirements : Education / Skills
Associate of Science Degree preferred.Basic knowledge of microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, and biochemistry as it relates to infectious diseases is required.Experience
1 year of experience in a clinical laboratory setting or completion of a certification program preferred.Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications
Medical Laboratory Assistant Certification or Phlebotomist Certification - PBT (ASCP), RPT (AMT), CPT (NPA) or equivalent required.State Licensure is required in Louisiana.Work Schedule :
