Point Solutions Group is hiring a Manufacturing Engineer III to work on major Aircraft Modification efforts with a space and aviation technologies prime contractor in Hagerstown, MD.
In this role, you will :
- Research, design, develop, test, certify, deploy, and improve cutting-edge products and services that range from advanced mission payloads and electronic systems to highly integrated aircraft.
- Specifically, you will be instrumental in the development and enhancement of our special mission aircraft, ensuring they meet the unique needs and stringent requirements of our clients.
- Your responsibilities will include consulting with program management, design engineers, quality assurance, and production teams to develop the most efficient and cost-effective means of producing our products at the highest quality possible.
- You will review engineering designs for producibility and oversee all aspects of design conception through implementation. This includes the development of tooling and fixtures, work instructions, and production processes and procedures.
- Additionally, you will apply manufacturing technologies and industry best practices during the design and development of new products and processes throughout the product lifecycle, ensuring that our special mission aircraft are built to the highest standards and performance criteria.
Required Skills and Experience :
Bachelor's of Science degree in related discipline and typically 6 or more years of relevant experienceHigher education may substitute for relevant experienceFamiliarity in applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) per ASME Y14.5Knowledge of industry standard design principles, to include, but not limited to parametric design, model-based definition, material hardware selection, manufacturing and production processes.Capability working in multi-disciplinary teamsExperience with work instruction / traveler developmentExposure to Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Manufacturing Execution System (MES), and Manufacturing Resource Planning (MRP) systemsUS citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain a United States Secret Security ClearanceBackground in the Aerospace and Defense IndustryParticipation in dispositions of Non-Conformance generation through a Material Review Board (MRB)Experience with new product introduction and transition to productionExperience with CATIA CAD software to create detailed tool designs and drawingsExperience with new product introduction and transition to productionExperience with CNC programming and machiningExperience with aircraft modificationExperience interacting with shop floor personal from project conception through implementationFamiliarity working with vendors on outside tooling fabrication
