We are seeking a committed and adaptable Locum Physician specializing in General Medicine to provide essential healthcare evaluations across Virginia. Required Skills:

• Medical degree (MD or DO) with valid licensure to practice medicine.
• Board-certified or eligible in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, or related general medicine specialties.
• Proven experience in conducting Compensation & Pension exams and Separation Health Assessments.
• Strong interview and physical assessment skills, including range of motion and muscle strength testing.
• Ability to interpret diagnostics and document findings accurately.
• Excellent communication and professionalism with Veterans and team members.
• Ability to work independently in a self-owned office setting.

Nice to Have Skills:

• Prior experience working within VA or government healthcare settings.
• Familiarity with VA-specific protocols and documentation.
• Certifications such as DMA or additional medical licenses.
• Basic knowledge of medical reporting software and procedures.
• Comfort with administrative tasks related to exams and reports.

Preferred Education and Experience:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• At least 1-2 years of clinical practice in general medicine.
• Experience with Compensation & Pension exams is highly advantageous.
• Previous work in a military or veteran healthcare environment is preferred.

Other Requirements:

• Must own and operate a private office space suitable for conducting exams.
• Willingness to travel to designated VA locations across Virginia.
• Availability to work on a PRN basis, including some early week and full-day shifts.
• Successful credentialing and onboarding process.
• Compliance with all applicable state, federal, and local laws regarding licensure and practice.

This rewarding position offers a competitive hourly rate of $800 for half-day shifts and $1,600 for full-day shifts, with a one-time bonus of $650 upon completion of initial training and first exams. Local candidates only—travel costs are included within compensation. Enjoy weekly pay via direct deposit, comprehensive medical coverage, paid sick leave, and additional reimbursement for licensure, certification, travel, and other approved expenses.
