Job description

TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified Med / Surg RN in Spooner, Wisconsin, 54801!

$2,272 per week

About The Position

Job Title : Registered Nurse

Shift : 12H Nights

Hours per Shift : 36 hours

Experience : 1 year of nursing experience required

License : Active nursing license required

Certifications : BLS, ACLS

Must-Have :

  • Positive attitudes only
  • Required certifications include BLS and ACLS

Description :

Unit consists of 18 beds.

Nurse to patient ratios are 1 : 4, sometimes 1 : 5, and rarely 1 : 6.

Common diagnoses include pneumonia, CHF, COPD, swing bed patients, weakness, cellulitis, and COVID-19.

Experience may include handling general surgical cases, such as appendectomies, overnight.

RNs are occasionally required to titrate drips, including Heparin and Cardizem.

Titration of medications such as Levophed or Dopamine may be initiated for deteriorating patients.

RNs are responsible for reading telemetry.

There is a day charge nurse who takes patients and a full assignment, while a house supervisor is available on nights.

Nursing assistants are present on the unit from 7 a.m. to 11 : 30 p.m.

The unit has 1 AM CNA and 1 PM CNA to help with answering patient lights, providing ADL care, collecting blood sugars, vital signs, and EKGs.

Respiratory therapy equipment available includes CPAP, BiPAP, high flow, and self-rescue devices.

Scheduling does not allow for self-scheduling; block schedules are maintained as closely as possible.

Staffing factors such as FMLA, shortages, and vacations can impact scheduling.

Weekend requirements include working every third weekend, with occasional requests for additional weekends.

Holiday requirements include working every third holiday.

There is no known call or standby requirement for travelers, although permanent staff may take backup call.

Floating to the emergency department may occur if assistance is needed, but RNs are not expected to take a full assignment.

Professional scrubs of any color are acceptable.

The facility enforces a 50-mile radius rule for applicants.
