Oncology RN Job Details

Location : Peoria, Illinois 61637

Healthcare Setting : Acute Care – Oncology Unit (19 private beds)

Contract Length : 13 weeks (Start : 11 / 10 / 2025 – End : 2 / 9 / 2026)

Nursing Shift : 12-hour nights (7 : 00 PM – 7 : 00 AM), 3 shifts per week

Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week

Estimated Weekly Salary : $1,990 - $2,130 per week

Weekend / Holiday Rotation : Every other weekend and holiday

Charting System : Epic (Beacon)

Dress Code : No specific scrub color required

Oncology Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Illinois RN license (or proof of application in process)

BLS (AHA) certification required

ONS / ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate

Minimum 1 year of recent oncology nursing experience

Proven experience administering IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy medications

Knowledge of PPE and safe handling procedures for chemotherapy

Ability to monitor and manage oncology medication side effects

Negative drug screen required

Oncology RN Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care to oncology, hematology, and medical patients, including those receiving radiation and Gyn / Onc care

Administer IV chemotherapy and immunotherapy regimens, adhering to all safety protocols

Monitor patients for side effects and intervene as needed

Collaborate with physicians, charge nurses, and patient care technicians to achieve optimal outcomes

Document all care accurately in Epic Beacon electronic health records

Participate in weekend and holiday rotations; float to general medical units as required

Engage in unit-specific orientation and ongoing professional development
