2 years Peds acute care experience- must be comfortable with high flow oxygen, spinal fusion, chest tubes

Preferred or nice to have :   candidates with these skills will be considered first.

Number of Beds – 36- all private rooms with parent sleeping accommodations

Number of Staff – 60

Type of staff :

Day Shift – 1 charge (patient free), 1-3 PCTs (CNA’s), occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as extra resource- typically 4 days a week

Night Shift - 1 charge (patient free), 1-2 PCT’s, occasionally a Clinical Nurse Coordinator as resource – typically twice a week or as staffing allows.

Patient Ratios – Mixed care- step down patients (spinal fusions, chest tubes, high flow oxygen. We do not do any CPAP, BiPAP or trach / vents in the department, they all go to PICU) are staffed 1 : 3 and basic care patients are staffed 1 : 4
