Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring WA or compact RN licensure, BLS certification, and DaVinci Xi experience.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) within an acute care hospital settingUnit consists of 22 suites with potential to increase to 26 across three separate floorsHandles an average of 50-65 cases per day across 16 service lines including GYN, Uro, Vascular, Plastic, Ortho, Neuro, Cardiovascular, Thoracic, General, Sports Med, Kidney Transplants, and ENTUtilizes specialized equipment such as the DaVinci Xi Robot for GYN, Uro, and General casesEMR system used is CernerWork schedule consists of four 10-hour shifts per week with variable start times (6 : 30am, 9 : 00am, or 11 : 00am) Monday through FridayCall required 4-5 times per month, with one call per four-week period (weekday call ends at 7am, weekend call is 24 hours, scheduled by manager) and 30-minute response timeNo floating to other departments requiredTeal scrubs provided following AORN standardsWill perform circulating duties in a large and busy CVOR with support from charge nurses, OR techs, and an experienced interdisciplinary teamExpected to assist in breaks during 9am and 11am shifts; no scrubbing required for cardiac casesOnboarding includes 1-2 days with HR and OR leadership covering orientation and unit-specific training, and one to two days with a preceptor (longer if unfamiliar with Cerner)Supportive and collaborative team with physicians and staff willing to teach; many travelers choose to extend assignmentsFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyCall room is available for on-call staffConsistent weekly start times provided; no self or block schedulingAttendance policy considers more than two absences in 13 weeks to be excessive and may lead to contract terminationRequirements
Active WA or compact RN license required at time of considerationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certification requiredMinimum of two years' operating room RN experience preferred; strong candidates with slightly less experience considered if they have experience with large hospital operating rooms and high case volumeDemonstrated circulating experience with multiple surgical specialties requiredExperience in ENT cases and operation of the DaVinci Xi (GYN, Uro, General) requiredPrior Cerner experience preferred but not requiredMust provide a copy of driver’s license for considerationTwo professional references required : one from a recent supervisor (within last 12 months) and one peer or supervisor from the last three years with employment dates and rehire eligibilityCannot have been employed by a CommonSpirit facility (including CHI / Dignity) in the past year (excludes PRN roles through external agencies)Benefits
