Applications Development Scientist

Description

Duties :

Gather and interpret user / system requirements for development of application processes across product lines with focus on immunofluorescence imaging, spatial biology / omics and light sheet microscopy. Analyze, design, build, test, implement and maintain applications for instruments and products in imaging and cellular therapy product portfolio. Develop custom processes, validate methods and perform release testing of applications development projects. Author development reports and method validation protocols. Provide technical and application assistance for experimental design, troubleshooting and product applications. 25% domestic travel, travel to headquarters in Germany once per year.

Requirements :

• Master's degree or higher in Cell / Molecular Biology, Biological Chemistry or related field
• One year of experience as an Application Scientist or related occupation
• Demonstrated experience with : programming software (MATLAB / Python / R), imaging and analysis of fluorescence microscopy datasets, preparing workflow and design control documentation, translating user requirements into process specifications, process validation, and ex vivo and in vitro cell culture processing.

The offered base salary is $124,936 / year.

Work Environment :

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. This job is performed in a temperature controlled, handicap-accessible facility without exposure to extreme hot or cold temperatures. Generally, this job is performed in an office environment. This job also requires the person to be mobile to visit customer sites, vendor shows, and demonstrations. Due to the travel requirements, this position may be exposed to natural elements of nature. Used research / clinical equipment may be handled in this job and strict SOPs and PPE must be worn. All persons performing this job will receive appropriate training prior to engaging in work requiring PPE or SOP procedures.
